TAIEX study visit on the implementation of EU legislation requirements regarding the quality of medicinal products into Ukrainian legislation has started. The delegation of the State Service of Ukraine on Medicines and Drugs Control, led by Deputy Head Volodymyr Korolenko, is visiting Prague, Czech Republic.
On February 17, a meeting was held at the regulatory authority – the State Institute for Drug Control (SÚKL).
Its head, Dr. Tomáš Boráň, welcomed Ukrainian colleagues and told them about the peculiarities of the institution's functioning, the Czech experience in practical implementation of EU legislation on the medicines quality, prevention of dangerous and counterfeit medicines from entering the market, and the state of international standards implementation in the pharmaceutical sphere.
The program of the meeting also includes visits to laboratories and pharmacies.
The study visit was organized by the Directorate-General for Neighborhood and Negotiations of the European Commission with the aim of approximating Ukrainian pharmaceutical legislation to the European Union legislation and improving the institutional capacity of the State Service of Ukraine on Medicines and Drugs Control in accordance with the European regulatory model, facilitating integration into the EU regulatory systems by approximating the Acquis Communautaire in the field of medicines regulation.
