Security and Sustainability in the Supply of Medical Products: International Seminar in Prague

The international workshop “Building Resilient and Sustainable Supply Chains for Medical Devices and Equipment”, held on June 17-18, 2025 in Prague, Czech Republic, was dedicated to the safe and sustainable supply chain of medical products and medicines.   The event was organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic and the NATO Joint Health Group.

The seminar was attended by representatives of allied countries, experts from EU and NATO structures, representatives of the pharmaceutical industry, and other international institutions, who jointly considered ways to increase the resilience and autonomy of healthcare systems in times of growing global challenges.

The representative of the State Service of Ukraine on Medicines and Drugs Control joined the discussion on the issues of proper supply chain management of medicines, donor blood and its components, medical devices, personal protective equipment, and surgical instruments. The event discussed the principles of supply chain disruption management and identified ways to eliminate them. Close cooperation, coordination, planning, and preparedness for potential shortages are of particular relevance in the context of armed aggression against Ukraine.

Special attention was paid to managing supply disruptions and finding solutions to overcome them. In the context of the armed aggression against Ukraine, coordination of efforts, strategic planning, crisis preparedness, and international partnership are extremely important.
