The SAFEMed project in Ukraine celebrates the 8th anniversary of its activity in Ukraine

On August 14, a meeting of stakeholders was held at the American University in Kyiv to mark the eighth anniversary of the Safe, Affordable, and Effective Medicines for Ukrainians (SAFEMed) project.

The event brought together friends and like-minded people who are working together on reforms in the medical sphere. The US Agency for International Development (USAID) has been providing Ukraine with financial, technical, and legal support for many years through the Safe, Affordable, and Effective Medicines for Ukrainians (SAFEMed) project.

Among the participants of this significant meeting were Deputy Minister of Health Maryna Slobodnichenko, Deputy Minister of Health Edem Adamanov, Head of the State Service of Ukraine on Medicines and Drugs Control Roman Isaienko, Director of the State Expert Center of the Ministry of Health Mykhailo Babenko, and other high-ranking officials and partners. The atendees congratulated the project representatives on the anniversary, shared the results of their joint work, and outlined priorities for the future.

Although the State Service of Ukraine on Medicines and Drugs Control became a recipient of SAFEMed support only in 2023, a number of important initiatives have already been implemented together.

The cooperation is going on today, so there is still a lot of joint work ahead to provide Ukrainians with high-quality and affordable medicines.

The State Service of Ukraine on Medicines and Drugs Control expresses its sincere gratitude to SAFEMed Director Rebecca Kohler and the entire project team for eight years of systematic support and dedication to a common purpose.
