On 20 February 2026, Volodymyr Korolenko, Acting Head of the State Service of Ukraine on Medicines and Drugs Control, held a public report on the Service's operational activity in 2025

During the report, information was presented on the results of the State Service of Ukraine on Medicines and Drugs Control in 2025 in its main spheres of activity.

The event was attended by heads of structural departments of the State Service of Ukraine on Medicines and Drugs Control, territorial bodies, and state-owned enterprises under its management. The event was attended by Edem Adamanov, Director of the State Expert Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, and his deputy for legal issues, Hanna Husieva, Tetiana Kotliar, Chair of the Public Council at the State Service of Ukraine on Medicines and Drugs Control, the representatives of the State Health Care Center of the State Penitentiary Service of Ukraine, and the European Business Association.

Volodymyr Korolenko informed about the main indicators of the State Service of Ukraine on Medicines and Drugs Control, focused on the results of the key spheres of work of the regulatory body, presented plans for the future, and emphasized that during 2025, the State Service of Ukraine on Medicines and Drugs Control developed, processed and coordinated with interested public authorities more than 30 draft regulatory acts.

It is specifically noted that, as of 1 January 2025, the State Service of Ukraine on Medicines and Drugs Control has resumed scheduled inspections of business entities that are critical to protect the life and health of citizens, as well as to ensure the quality, safety and effectiveness of products used in the healthcare system, since the vast majority of violations are detected during scheduled inspections.

The special attention is paid to reforms aimed at improving the affordability and physical accessibility of over-the-counter medicines, especially in frontline regions and rural areas, as well as in conditions of unstable electricity supply.

The speaker noted the functioning of a single GMP/GDP inspectorate, whose inspectors are listed in the international register, and the active international activities of the State Service. Edem Adamanov, Director of the State Expert Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, also highly assessed the professional and coordinated work of the State Service of Ukraine on Medicines and Drugs Control, emphasizing its important role in ensuring the quality and availability of medicines in conditions of martial law and the further creation of the State control body in accordance with the new Law “On Medicines.”
