State Service of Ukraine on Medicines and Drugs Control and National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine  signed a Memorandum of Partnership

The  relevance of signing such a document is due to the need to promote the manufacture of quality medicines, increase their competitiveness and protect the interests of domestic producers and prevent counterfeit drugs from entering the Ukrainian market, prevent drug trafficking. This is especially relevant in the context of large-scale Russian invasion and further recovery of Ukraine from the effects of war, European and Euro-Atlantic integration of our country.

The signing of the Memorandum will encourage unite the efforts of the State Service of Ukraine on Medicines and Drugs Control and the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine to develop and implement new standards of quality control of drugs and medical devices, control of drug trafficking in order to harmonize Ukraine's sectoral legal framework with relevant EU directives.

The Memorandum will facilitate the implementation of projects to implement measures for scientific support, scientific and methodological and practical training of representatives of the domestic pharmaceutical industry, as well as compliance with the goals of further sustainable development of Ukraine in general.

Thus, within the framework of the Memorandum, the State Service of Ukraine on Medicines and Drugs Control will promote the involvement of public authorities, members of the public and business in the implementation of projects to improve the regulatory framework to ensure the quality of medicines and medical devices.

In turn, NAMS will provide the necessary advisory and technical assistance by involving scientific institutions to optimize the quality control processes of medicines and medical devices.

In general, the Memorandum is the basis for further development of interaction and cooperation between the State Service of Ukraine on Medicines and Drugs Control and the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine.
