Division for International Cooperation and Communications

Main Division tasks

Ensures coordination and conduct of measures on European integration and international cooperation in the main areas of SMDC activity.

Participates in the collection and analysis of information in the areas of quality control and safety of medicines, including medical immunobiological products, medical devices and circulation of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and precursors, and counteraction to their illegal trafficking.

Organizes and coordinates the work on the State Service of Ukraine on Medicines and Drugs Control cooperation with mass media.

Ensures the functioning of communication mechanisms between the State Service of Ukraine on Medicines and Drugs Control and civil society institutions.

Prepares informational, analytical and reference materials on issues within the competence of the Division on behalf of the Deputy Head

Develops proposals for improvement of regulatory legal acts related to the activities of the Division and submits them for consideration to the SMDC Deputy Head and the SMDC Head.

Considers proposals, requests, applications, and complaints from citizens on issues within the competence of the Department.

Ensures the functioning of the quality management system processes of the State Service of Ukraine on Medicines and Drugs Control and the constant improvement of their effectiveness.

Main Division functions

The Department, in accordance with its tasks, performs organizational and analytical functions in the sphere of European integration and international relations in the main directions of the State Service of Ukraine on Medicines and Drugs Control activities, interaction of the SMDC with mass media and its communications with civil society institutions.

Analyzes the state of affairs in the field of SMDC international cooperation and prepares proposals for its extension, improvement and efficiency.

Summarizes and analyzes information on the fulfillment of obligations related to Ukraine’s membership in international organizations represented by the State Service of Ukraine on Medicines and Drugs Control.

Ensures the collection and analysis of information on the main areas of SMDC activity on the state of affairs in the European Union and in the EU member states in particular.

Monitors the official websites of international specialized medical, pharmaceutical and scientific organizations and institutions.

Provides unofficial documents translation.

Prepares analytical and reference materials on European integration and international relations in the main areas of SMDC activity.

Participates in the preparation and registration of foreign business trips of SMDC employees.

Ensures coordination and implementation of measures to reception and work with foreigners.

Participates in the collection of information from open information sources in Ukraine and abroad regarding the main activities of the State Service of Ukraine on Medicines and Drugs Control.

Participates in the collection and analysis of information on the activities of the structural units of the SMDC, its territorial bodies, state enterprises belonging to the management of the SMDC, prepares reports, reference and other materials for the SMDC leadership on their basis.

Publishes information on the current SMDC activities via the Internet on the official SMDC website.

Publishes the SMDC data sets in the form of open data on the official SMDC website and on the Open Data Portal.

Organizes interviews and comments for the media by the SMDC officials.

Organizes press conferences, briefings, and other events with the participation of the media on behalf of the SMDC leadership.

Monitors and analyzes information published in domestic and foreign e-media on the SMDC activities and current events in the pharmaceutical sector in Ukraine and worldwide.

Facilitates communication between the SMDC structural units and civil society institutions.

Promotes systematic consultations between the SMDC structural units and the public during the implementation of the state policy on the main directions of the SMDC activity.

Cooperates with SMDC structural units, its regional authorities and enterprises under its management in order to fulfill the tasks assigned to the Division, provides them with advisory and methodological assistance on issues within the competence of the Division.

Participates in the development and discussion of draft legal acts on issues within the competence of the Division.
