First import of Ozempic® to Ukraine

The State Service of Ukraine on Medicines and Drugs Control informs that the medicine Ozempic® (semaglutide) manufactured by Novo Nordisk (Denmark) was imported for the first time to the territory of Ukraine.

Due to the extremely high popularity of this medicine in the world, it is one of the main targets for international counterfeiting and smuggling. The start of official supplies to Ukraine will allow patients to be provided with a guaranteed quality, original product directly from the manufacturer. Novo Nordisk Company reports that it works to ensure stable supplies of the medicine to meet patients’ needs and calls for the rational use of the medicine according to the approved indications.

The State Service of Ukraine on Medicines and Drugs Control emphasizes that the purchase of medicines through third-party online platforms, advertisements or social networks is accompanied by the risk of receiving substandard or falsified medicines, the safety and effectiveness of which cannot be confirmed.

To raise awareness among the medical community and protect patient health, Novo Nordisk has prepared relevant information materials, which can be found in the annexes.

We remind you that each batch of medicines officially imported into Ukraine is subject to mandatory state quality control. The circulation of such medicines is allowed only after receiving a positive conclusion on the quality of the imported medicine.

The State Service of Ukraine on Medicines and Drugs Control continues to carry out state control of the quality of medicines imported into the territory of Ukraine in order to guarantee their safety, effectiveness and quality.
