Meeting with MSH President and CEO President and Chief Executive Officer

On June 25, Head of the State Service of Ukraine on Medicines and Drugs Control Roman Isaienko had a meeting with MSH President and CEO Marian Wentworth and representatives of the USAID project «Safe, Affordable and Effective Medicines for Ukrainians» (SAFEMed).

Key cooperation issues, results analysis, and further ways of implementing the USAID project «Safe, Affordable and Effective Medicines for Ukrainians» (SAFEMed) were discussed at the meeting.

Marian W. Wentworth emphasized the importance of strengthening institutional capacity, legal support, and auditing the IT-structure to prepare for joining European databases, considering Ukraine’s status as an EU candidate.

The mobile pharmacies’ functioning, the requirement to comply with the license conditions, ensuring access for low-mobility groups to mobile sales points, the necessity for feedback from consumers, territorial authorities and local governments, as well as the need to analyze gaps, became the topics of interested and constructive communication.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the participants outlined the next steps to ensure the improvement and further reform of the pharmaceutical industry.
