Officials of the State Service of Ukraine on Medicines and Drugs Control take part in the 3rd Meeting of the Council of Europe Convention on the counterfeiting of medical products and similar crimes involving threats to public health (MEDICRIME)

The 3rd Meeting of the MEDICRIME started online on 03 December 2020. Representatives of the Convention parties, Council of Europe and scientific committees and institutions are participating in the event.

During the Committee meeting, the participants are discussing results of the report based on the data provided by the countries in accordance with “questionnaires”. Following the presentation of the project “Needs assessment – Falsified Medical Products” and relevant initiatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe the delegates shared information on existing practices on counterfeit and falsified medicinal products and plan to define further actions.

 

Additionally:

MEDICRIME Convention is the first international criminal law instrument to oblige each State-Party to criminalise: the manufacturing of counterfeit medical products; supplying, offering to supply and trafficking in counterfeit medical products; the falsification of documents; the unauthorised manufacturing or supplying of medicinal products and the placing on the market of medical devices which do not comply with conformity requirements. The MEDICRIME Convention came into force in Ukraine on 1 January 2016.
