Representatives of the State Service of Ukraine on Medicines and Drugs Control took part in the Ninth meeting of the Member State mechanism on substandard and falsified medical products

Representatives of the State Service of Ukraine on Medicines and Drugs Control took part in the Ninth meeting of the Member State mechanism on substandard and falsified medical products that was held online on 28 and 29 October 2020. More than two hundred delegates joined the event.

The authorized representatives of the WHO Secretariat informed the participants on the WHO’s success in the field of prevention and detection of and response to substandard and falsified medical products and on the draft budget for implementation of the WHO programmes for further few years.

Besides, during the meeting the peculiarities and results of the WHO Global Surveillance and Monitoring System for substandard and falsified medical products (WHO GSMS) were presented. The participants also joined discussions on updated WHO recomendations on market surveillance of medicinal products and Surveillance and Monitoring System notifications on detection of substandard and falsified medical products.

Meanwhile, representatives of the WHO member states exchanged their experience on the work in conditions of pandemic.

As a result of the meeting, the representatives provided WHO recommendations on strengthening regulatory authorities in the field of prevention and detection of and response to substandard and falsified medical products.
