The 60th anniversary of the European Directorate for the Quality of Medicines & HealthCare and the European Pharmacopoeia
Опубліковано 18.06.2024 о 15:52This year, the European Directorate for the Quality of Medicines & HealthCare (EDQM) and the European Pharmacopoeia celebrate their 60th anniversary. EDQM is a leading organization of the Council of Europe that actively deals with the problems of medicines quality control and other public health issues in Europe. Since joining in 2013, Ukraine has been actively involved in joint efforts as a full member of the European Pharmacopoeia.
On the occasion of this event, a two-day conference was held on June 11-12, 2024, in Strasbourg, France, bringing together pharmaceutical industry professionals, scientists, politicians, and regulatory representatives from various countries to discuss achievements and future challenges in healthcare. Key discussions revolved around current issues, the role of new technologies, and the importance of international cooperation.
At the invitation of the EDQM leadership, Natalia Volovyk, Deputy Director for Quality at the State Enterprise «Ukrainian Scientific Pharmacopoeial Center for Quality of Medicines» participated in the event.
The conference demonstrated the role of the EDQM in ensuring access to quality and safe medicines, highlighted its rich history, and emphasized the importance of using new technologies and further collaboration to improve outcomes in the healthcare sector globally.
