On 22-24 December 2025 the SMDC’s employees of Lviv Region took part in a specialized training at the Superhumans Center, one of Ukraine’s leading rehabilitation and prosthetic center for war victims.

The Superhumans Center, founded by the Superhumans Charitable Foundation, currently operates in Lviv and Dnipro and provides free comprehensive medical and rehabilitation assistance to approximately 300 patients each month, including military personnel, civilians and their family members. The centers have departments for rehabilitation and prosthetic, reconstructive surgery, hearing restoration and psychological support.

We would like to mention that on 25 July 2025 the State Service of Ukraine on Medicines and Drugs Control signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the charitable organization “Superpeople Charitable Foundation.”

During the training, SMDC’s specialists got acquainted with the entire patient pathway after amputation – from initial assessment and rehabilitation to the selection, adjustment and use of prosthetic and orthopedic devices. The program covered basic approaches to upper and lower limb prosthetic, principles of functional assessment, interdisciplinary collaboration between specialists and documentation requirements in line with current legislation.

The participants shared their impressions of the training.

“I was really impressed by professional and enthusiastic center’s team. It was fascinating to see how they figure out the right prosthetic parts, all steps in making it, teaching people how to use it and helping patients get back on their feet. I have learned a great deal of new information about upper limb prosthetic,” said Iryna Borys, Deputy Head of the State Control Department.

“We have learned the patient’s route, the stages of preparation for prosthetic and subsequent rehabilitation in detail. We identified key points for quality control of components and finished individual medical devices. We were inspired by the strength and resilience of the team and patients,” told Liudmyla Kolishko, chief specialist of the state control department.

Summing up the results of the training, Deputy Head of Service Viktor Bondar emphasized: “The best results in prosthetic quality control are achieved thanks to the comprehensive approach of a multidisciplinary team of medical specialists and representatives of the State Service of Ukraine on Medicines and Drugs Control. It is  crucial to develop a joint patient pathway between the social and medical spheres for further effective cooperation.”

The State Service of Ukraine on Medicines and Drugs Control sincerely thanks the Superhumans Center team for the opportunity to  enhance their professional knowledge and skills and hopes that this initiative will become a solid platform for sharing experiences and developing further cooperation to support people affected by the war.
