Working meeting with business entities involved in the distribution of narcotic drugs

On 16 April 2026, at the initiative of the State Service of Ukraine on Medicines and Drugs Control, a working meeting was held with business entities engaged in the circulation of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and precursors, to discuss the issue of obtaining quotas for the production of medical cannabis in a pharmacy in 2026. Interested public organisations also took part in the meeting actively.

SMDC of Ukraine was represented at the meeting by Volodymyr Korolenko, SMDC Acting Head; Yana Trubachova, Head of the Department of state regulation and control in the sphere of narcotic drugs circulation, psychotropic 

substances, precursors and counteraction to their illicit circulation and Iryna Filonenko, Head of the Division of controlled substances regulation and counteraction to their illicit circulation.

The meeting was devoted to the issue of obtaining quotas within the framework of economic activity for the production of medical cannabis in the conditions of a pharmacy, during which representatives of SMDC have provided explanations on many topical issues related to quotas; mechanisms for redistribution and increase in quota volumes for 2026 to ensure the necessary access of patients to therapy with medicines based on medical cannabis were discussed as well.

Also, as part of the dialogue with the business entities engaged in the circulation of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and precursors, other issues that are currently relevant to the entities were considered.

Summarizing the results of the meeting, Volodymyr Korolenko thanked its participants, emphasized the openness of SMDC for communication with representatives of business entities and willingness to join the discussion of current and problematic topics.
