Medicine digitalization is ongoing: the first eHealth Summit 2024 in Ukraine

The first Ukrainian eHealth Summit 2024 was held in Kyiv on September 11. The Summit has become a modern information platform for demonstrating the latest achievements in the global healthcare digitalization and important steps taken in this direction by the Ukrainian healthcare specialists.

Experience exchange, discussion of urgent problems and future perspectives in the medical digitalization field were the opportunities that the participants of the event managed to realize, including well-known representatives of both the global and national healthcare systems.

Head of the State Service of Ukraine on Medicines and Drugs Control Roman Isaienko also participated in this event.

According to the latest version of the Law of Ukraine «On Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Substances and Precursors», the circulation of cannabis for medical purposes, its processed products, and cannabis plant substance is allowed subject to control and traceability at all stages. It should be ensured at all stages of circulation, in particular, by the functioning of the electronic information system for accounting of cultivated cannabis plants for medical purposes, movement of such plants, products of their processing, cannabis plant substance and medicinal products made (manufactured) from them. The State Service of Ukraine on Medicines and Drugs Control ensures the functioning of such an electronic information accounting system. The system of generation, circulation and practical use of electronic relevant documentation will be properly established.

These issues were highlighted in the report of the Minister of Health of Ukraine Viktor Liashko, who focused on the topic of electronic solutions for accounting of medical cannabis circulation in Ukraine.

In general, the results of the eHealth Summit 2024 clearly demonstrated the dynamic development of healthcare digitalization in Ukraine and the perspectives for the implementation of new technologies in this area.
