Memorandum of Understanding Signed

On August 23, 2024, during the visit of the Prime Minister of India, H.E. Narendra Modi to Ukraine, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the State Service of Ukraine on Medicines and Drugs Control and the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare of the Government of India.

In the joint statement, the President of Ukraine and the Prime Minister of India highlighted cooperation in the pharmaceutical sector as one of the main areas of partnership, and emphasized their desire to further expand contacts, interaction and experience exchange. Head of the State Service of Ukraine on Medicines and Drugs Control Roman Isaienko and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India in Ukraine H.E. Mr. Ravi Shankar signed the document in the presence of the President of Ukraine H.E. Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the Prime Minister of India, H.E. Narendra Modi.

The Memorandum formalized the longstanding cooperation in the pharmaceutical sector. The regulatory authorities of Ukraine and India signed this Memorandum to join efforts to counteract substandard and falsified medicines and to improve the organization of public access to quality and affordable medicines.
