Opening of a New Pharmacy at the “YaMariupol” Center

Today in Kyiv, a new pharmacy opened at the “YaMariupol” Сenter and specialized medical hub. It is owned by the relocated municipal non-profit enterprise of the Mariupol City Council, “Mariupol City Hospital No. 1,” which has been operating there since September 2024. At the invitation of the Mariupol City Military Administration, the opening ceremony was attended by Acting Head of the State Service of Ukraine on Medicines and Drugs Control Volodymyr Korolenko, Head of the State Service of Ukraine on Medicines and Drugs Control in Kyiv Mykola Kholodenko, and Head of the State Service of Ukraine on Medicines and Drugs Control in Donetsk oblast Iryna Susharina.

 

The opening of the pharmacy in Kyiv marked the final step in the rollout of a unified healthcare ecosystem for internally displaced persons from Mariupol and Donetsk region. The project has set ambitious goals: to provide high-quality medicines to over 9,600 patients by the end of the year, and to allocate 7.5 million hryvnias from the city budget for medicines for 500 individuals in priority groups. Expansion of the network is already planned in Dnipro, Lviv and Odesa, and in the second half of 2026, a pharmacy specializing in medicines’ manufacturing will open in Uzhhorod. In addition the project also has an educational mission— in June, the first 20 students from  Mariupol Medical College will begin their practical training at the new facilities, ensuring the training of personnel for the future of Ukrainian pharmacy. Soon, the pharmacy will operate under the state programme “Affordable Medicines.”
