The State Service of Ukraine on Medicines and Drugs Control has issued the first authorisation for parallel import of medicines

The State Service of Ukraine on Medicines and Drugs Control informs about the issuance of the first permit for parallel import of the medicines Imipenem / Cilastatin, manufactured by ACS DOBFAR S.P.A., Italy.

The license was issued in accordance with the requirements of the legislation of Ukraine in the field of circulation of medicines and is the result of the practical implementation of the mechanism of parallel import.

Parallel import involves the importation into the customs territory of Ukraine of medicines that are already registered in Ukraine but are supplied from European Union countries where they are legally in circulation.

The issuance of the first parallel import authorisation marks the beginning of the practical application of the relevant regulatory mechanism and aims to increase the availability of medicines for the population and ensure the stability of their supply.

In the future, the SMDC of Ukraine will continue to make sure that medicines brought into Ukraine meet high quality standards. This is to keep people healthy and ensure that only safe and effective medicines are available.
