The State Service of Ukraine on Medicines and Drugs Control’s representatives have participated in the Twinning project “Training of the State Service of Ukraine on Medicines and Drugs Control on the provision of safety and quality standards of substances of human origin (SoHO)”
Опубліковано 18.09.2026 о 14:18The representatives of the SMDC of Ukraine took part in the Twinning project “Training on inspections of institutions dealing with the supervision of substances of human origin (SoHO)” from 14 to 18 September 2026 which was organized by Lithuanian colleagues within the framework of EU Twinning project No. UA 24 UF HE 01 25 “Support the Establishment of the State Control Authority for Medicines and Medical Devices in Ukraine”.

The objective of the Twinning project seminar is to strengthen the capacity of the SMDC in the supervision of tissue banks and assisted reproduction processes.

The training seminar is dedicated to the exchange of knowledge between Lithuania and Ukraine on the quality, safety and regulatory aspects of human organs, tissues and cells.

During the event, Lithuanian experts presented the European Union standards for tissue and cell banks, donor selection criteria and organ and tissue tracing systems.
The Lithuanian experience in the investigation of serious adverse reactions and events (SAR/SAE) was also reviewed, as well as in the field of supervision of transplantation centers and monitoring of results. Experts analyzed Ukrainian draft legislative acts and assessed their conformity with European practice.

The visit concluded with a comparative review, recommendations on donor procedures and reproductive cell research, and an action plan for future bilateral cooperation.
