The Working Meeting with Representatives of the State Enterprise “Medical Procurement of Ukraine”

On 3 September, under the chairmanship of the Acting Head of the State Service of Ukraine on Medicines and Drugs Control, Taras Proniv, the working meeting was held between representatives of the Department on Medicines and Blood Quality Control of the SMDC of Ukraine and representatives of the State Enterprise “Medical Procurement of Ukraine”.

The main topic of the meeting was the discussion of the work of the SMDC of Ukraine during the transition to a new model of state regulation in the field of medicines with the start of the work of the Ukrainian Pharmaceutical Agency on 1 January 2027.

During the meeting, the participants discussed the specifics of laboratory control of batches of medicines imported in December 2026, as well as the procedure for laboratory control of the quality of medicines for all indicators.

Special attention was paid to the algorithm of actions in case of import of medicines from a non-resident. The order of actions of the importer in case of import of medicines, the manufacture of which is partially carried out in countries with strict regulatory systems, as well as medicines that have been released for circulation in the EU/EFTA countries, was also considered.

The participants of the meeting discussed separately the changes in terminology and definitions that will enter into force on 1 January 2027, in particular with regard to the concepts of “distributor” and “importer”.

The purpose of such working meetings is to ensure a harmonized approach to the application of new requirements and continuity of the state quality control processes of medicines during the transition period.
