The National Police, with the cooperation of the State Service of Ukraine on Medicines and Drugs Control, blocked the channel of importing into Ukraine falsified drugs of Russian and Belarusian production

A resident of the Volyn region organized a channel for the import and distribution of counterfeit medical drugs, involving four accomplices in the criminal activity.

Operatives of the Strategic Investigations Department in Volyn region, together with investigators of the regional police department and specialists of the State Service of Ukraine on Medicines and Drugs Control in Volyn region, eliminated the channel of illegal supply of counterfeit medicines made in Russia and Belarus.

To sell the counterfeit medicines, the offenders created online stores, specialized groups in social networks and messengers. The medicines were delivered to customers via postal services, and payment for them was made by cash on delivery or by transferring funds to the defendants’ card accounts.

The monthly criminal cash circulation from the sale of counterfeit medicines amounted to more than 2 million UAH.

On July 24, the police conducted six searches at the places of medicines storage and the defendants’ residences. Russian and Belarusian medicines, more than 2 million UAH in various currencies, etc. were seized during the operations.

The issue of seizing the seized property, conducting an expertise and legal qualification of the crime is being resolved.
