Working visit to the Kingdom of Denmark

The working visit of the Head of the State Service of Ukraine on Medicines and Drugs Control, Roman Isaienko, as part of the delegation led by the Minister of Health of Ukraine, Viktor Liashko, to the Kingdom of Denmark has been completed.

During a bilateral meeting between the Minister of Health of Ukraine, Viktor Liashko, and the Minister for the Interior and Health of Denmark, Sophie Løhde, an Agreement on Strategic Sector Cooperation in the healthcare sector between Ukraine and Denmark was signed.

At the World Health Organization (WHO) office in Copenhagen, Viktor Liashko and delegates met with Dr Hans Kluge, Director of the WHO Regional Office for Europe. It was the first meeting of the Head of the State Service of Ukraine on Medicines and Drugs Control, Roman Isaienko, with the Regional Director, that allowed to establish further working relations.

At the initiative of Deputy Minister of Health of Ukraine for European Integration Maryna Slobodnichenko, representatives of Ukraine’s healthcare sector visited the Danish Medicines Agency and other institutions. The Memorandum of Understanding between the State Service of Ukraine on Medicines and Drugs Control and the Danish Medicines Agency was signed during the meeting.

The Ukrainian delegation visited Novo Nordisk, one of the world’s leading pharmaceutical companies, and learned about the process of manufacturing the most innovative medicines based on innovative technologies.

This visit to the European Union will contribute to the effective establishment of cooperation and strengthening both partnerships and friendly contacts between profile agencies, which will definitely support European integration processes.
